  Douglas W. Bogan, DDS

Dr. Doug Bogan grew up in West Texas, received a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from Texas Tech University and his DDS from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. He has practiced general dentistry in Houston since 1973. Dr. Bogan is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Society. He serves as a Delegate to the American Dental Association and the Texas Dental Association. He has served as president of the Greater Houston Dental Society. An active member and Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, he has served as president of the Houston Academy of General Dentistry and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of AGD.

Dr. Bogan was honored to be named Texas Dentist of the Year by the Texas Academy of General Dentistry for 2013-14. He is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the Academy of Dentistry International. He currently serves as chair of the board of the Texas Section of the American College of Dentists. He is a past president of the University of Texas School of Dentistry Alumni Association. Dr. Bogan serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Dental Association Smiles Foundation and on the board of the Academy of General Dentistry Foundation, and as a member of the Advisory Council of the University of Texas School of Dentistry.

Dr. Bogan is a member of the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education Alumni Association, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology. He holds certification in enteral sedation with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and a certificate of standard proficiency with the Academy of Laser Dentistry. In his career, he has taken over 1700 hours of continuing education.

Dr. Bogan is married to Diane who is an office manager. They have two children, Brad, an attorney in San Antonio, and Lacy, a C.P.A. in Denver. His interests include cycling, hiking, baseball and serving as a mentor to dental students. He also does volunteer dentistry; he has led approximately 10 mission trips to the border area of northern Mexico, volunteers regularly at the San Jose Clinic in Houston, and has participated in over 25 in Texas Missions of Mercy events through the Texas Dental Association Smiles Foundation.
